Financial Support
Northlea United relies upon private donations to provide the financial resources to carry out its programs. Northlea is a registered charity. Receipts for tax purposes are issued annually, but if required earlier, arrangements can be made through the church office.
Northlea participates in the pre-authorized remittance program (PAR) of the United Church of Canada. Monthly, approximately on the 20th, individuals can contribute by providing information to the church regarding a VISA, MASTERCARD or bank account. PAR participation cards are available in the pews for placement in the Sunday offering plate. As an alternative, Northlea can provide a box containing weekly offering envelopes to congregants which can be placed in the Sunday offering plate. Both the PAR program and the envelopes enable an allocation of your givings to local expenses and the Mission and Service fund of the National church. Contact the church office to obtain PAR registration forms or envelopes.
If you wish to receive a charitable receipt, but are a visitor or an occasional supporter, use the envelopes in the pews and provide your name and address. These donations will support our local expenses.
Special appeals are often made during the year for specific programs which are either for outreach programs or to support local programs. Special envelopes are provided for these appeals. Placing your contribution in the envelope and providing your PAR or envelope number will ensure your donation is directed properly and that you will receive credit in your tax receipt.
Northlea’s Trustees do receive contributions by way of bequest or memorial. Unless designated by the giver, the Board of Northlea will determine the use of the monies.
