Sleeping Children Around the World
On November 27th the Advent Appeal begins. This year, as in the past, we support Sleeping Children Around the World. The Outreach Committee will once again hold our Advent appeal for the 'Sleeping Children Around the World' bedkits. First, we wish to extend our deepest THANKS to all who have contributed over many years to this cause. It began with Murray Dryden visiting an Anglican Church orphanage in Puna, India, in August 1970 and giving out 50 bedkits. Now, thanks to thousands of generous donors over the decades and a team of truly dedicated volunteers, we have collectively helped over one million children and their families!! Please see the photos we have posted on the Outreach board and get more info on their website www.scaw.org . This season, donations can be made to this charity from November 27 to December 18, 2010. Each bedkit costs $35.00. Please make your cheques payable to NORTHLEA UNITED CHURCH and note that it is for SLEEPING CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD. If you are submitting cash, please use the visitor envelopes and note that the contribution is for Sleeping Children. Thanks again for your wonderful support of this Charity.
